“Satark Journeys was founded out of a deep respect for the culture, people and landscapes of India (and South Asia in general). My journey into travel began in 2012 where I started working as an offbeat travel guide for a local Mumbai based travel company while I was doing masters in ‘Communication For Development’ and simultaneously working full-time as a Communications Manager at a local non-profit working on providing quality education for the underprivileged.

 I successfully guided individuals & groups from across the world through the streets of Mumbai, specializing in market tours and village walks. Academically, I have worked mainly in the non-profit sector working on campaigns and causes like Environment, Education and prevention of Gender based violence.  

2015 onwards, I began my Pan-India journey where I worked as Travel Guide, Translator  & Travel Escort for bespoke travel experiences (across India) which impact and uplift communities and destinations at large. This opened my horizons into the world of ‘Travel + Impact’. 

Each time I travel in India, it surprises me and impresses me further. Having travelled a few countries , I have developed a bigger appreciation for culture, people, traditions and the festivals of the Indian sub-continent. India is a continent put together and yet the differences in culture is trumped by the collective consciousness. Introducing India to people from across the globe made me realise that India is not only fun, vibrant and friendly but also a transformative journey for each traveller, whether proactively or in retrospect. 

In 2020, I took a leap to completely immerse myself into building & curating bespoke travel experiences that go beyond the cookie-cutter itineraries and sight-seeing.

‘Satark Journeys’ is an attempt to bridge the gap between the east and the west and serve as an ambassador to open your mind and heart into the beautiful kaleidoscope that is India.
